Taste the legacy.

Ramspring Bourbon is Kentucky’s newest traditional straight bourbon whiskey, celebrating the rich Kentucky history of bourbon distilling and thoroughbred horse racing.

Our farm

Located just a mile from where the process of sour mash fermentation was perfected by Dr. “Doc” James Crow, Ramspring Farm was also a first in this fertile region of Central Kentucky. The farm was part of the land grant era, whereby thousands of acres were transferred as land grants from the territory formerly known as Western Virginia.

Ramspring Farm was established in 1976 by Dr. O. M. “Mac” Patrick and his wife Mary Leigh. They have been raising top-shelf thoroughbreds ever since, producing multiple, notable stakes winners over these last forty-seven years.

Our bourbon

Being so close to the birth of Kentucky bourbon, directly across the mouth of Glenn’s Creek on the Kentucky River, the Patrick family now launches its own brand of bourbon, Ramspring Farm Kentucky bourbon, made with the same passion the Kentucky horse breeder has for each of its small batch thoroughbred yearlings that it offers at the world’s foremost equine auction houses each year. Years ago, Doc Crow’s distillery was connected to land west of the Kentucky River by the Glenn’s Creek Ferry, later renamed Arnold’s Ferry, which landed and disembarked from the banks which demarcate Ramspring Farm’s eastern boundary.

Bourbon and horses. That’s Kentucky.

Bourbon, horses, and a gentle way of life: Doc Crow and Dr. Mac Patrick couldn’t have imagined any better way to enjoy these two staples of the Commonwealth and celebrate their heritages.

Cheers, good living, and go, baby, go!
